In collaboration with Island Impact Ministries and University of Scranton alumni, 11 nursing students and two faculty members traveled with a team of healthcare providers to the Dominican Republic in January 2018.  During this service-based mission trip, ambulatory medical clinics were set up on a daily basis in a variety of locations and medical care was provided to approximately 1,000 impoverished Dominican and Haitian residents, including hundreds of infants and children. Through several fundraising efforts and generous donations from the community, 30 large suitcases were filled with medications and a variety of health and hygiene supplies. The team plans to return again in 2020.
